Helen is now taking appointments for personal training on Pilates reformer.  Recover from injury or get in to shape by using a simple wooden frame, a movable carriage, springs, a footbar and adjustable leather straps. WV Town Square Saturday Yoga Class @ 4:30

Saturdays at 4:30 is a Gentle Flow Yoga class with long holds.  It is a deep practice to create a retreat-feel in Waterville Valley. Drop-ins are welcome and the class is beginner friendly. Mats and props are available but please bring water and a small towel. 

Getting people out of their heads with listening to the Yoga of Sound.  With your thinking mind out of the way it’s now easier to witness the breath to support the movement.  Please join me.

Yoga Class Descriptions

MIND-BODY MOVEMENT   –   Explore the richness of the relationship between your mind and your body.  This class, based on Somatic principals, uses simple, gentle exercises to help restore optimal resting length and function to muscles that have become painfully tight due to stress, trauma, repetitive motions and/or unconscious habits.  Movements will be guided along with the opportunity to find your own movement vocabulary through basic structured patterns.   Awakening the senses and restore sensory motor awareness to the brain and muscular system.  Asanas will also be incorporated to further enhance flexibility, strength and balance for overall well-being.  This class beginner friendly and suitable for all.

RESTORATIVE – A perfect opportunity to experience a deep state of relaxation where the body can release and heal. Experience prop supported postures with long holds that reduce stress and bring flexibility and balance to the mind and body. Simply let go and surrender. Give your body the natural gift of rejuvenation. Blocks, blankets, bolsters, and straps are optional, and you’ll receive personal assistance for set-up in restorative postures.  This class inspires all levels and adults.  

Helen is a Waterville Valley resident and specializes in Therapeutic Thai Yoga but do teach Vinyasa flow and prop-based restorative classes. She is yoga teacher certified through Sun & Moon Yoga Studio, Arlington VA and has many hours of additional specialized training. She studied under Tias Little, Prajna Yoga, Todd Norian with Ashaya Yoga and other international eclectic renowned teachers. She studied yoga in the US and internationally in India, Guatemala, Mexico, and Canada. She has a Thai Yoga Essentials Certification through Lotus Palm School, Montreal, Quebec. She also has an Assessment-Based Certificate for Power Pilates Mat Teacher Training.

Any physical exercise done with breath awareness becomes yoga; anything done without the breath is just a physical practice.

Feeling tired and stressed?  Especially after Thursday’s debate. Restore your body and soul by Zooming in from your home. We’ll mix some Yin, Hatha, a gentle flow and a variety of calming pranayama techniques woven through.  Class is no more than 75 minutes. Attend when you are able.

🎶 🌷🧘‍♂️ Getting students out of their heads in the great outdoors has been enjoyable and will continue as long as the weather permits.  Everyone is raving about how nice Waterville Valley is for outdoor yoga.  It doesn’t get any better with yoga classes at Osceola Arbor Gazebo and Brookside patio at Town Square.  Come join a yoga class every Friday and Sunday at 9am and Wednesdays at 8am. There is an awning at Brookside patio in case of rain..

Experience your healing potential by learning how to adapt your practice that best suit you. I teach with a progressive style, by suggesting how to change your position, how to use a prop or modify to what’s right for you.  If you want more intensity, I’ll show you.  And if you want less, I’ll show less.  With the thinking mind out of the way, (much easier in quiet nature), it’s easier to witness the breath to support the movement.

🎶 🌷🧘‍♂️ It seems like Covid-19 is still going strong and Zoom classes are a safe and accessible option for many of us.  I’ll be offering Yoga on Zoom, 8am every Monday starting this Monday, August 31.  We will start with subtle movements with breath awareness and slowly move into a strong, soft flow and end with relaxation.  Email helenyoga@roadrunner.com and I’ll reply with the link to class.
